Top 5 Wednesday| Tropes you hate

This weekly meme is created by gingerreadslainey and here is the goodreads group. Today’s Top 5 Wednesday is Tropes you hate.

Believe it or not by I have to research what “tropes” actually mean because I`ve never heard of that term before. Anyway I found out what it meant and have collected a list of them to share with you today. 🙂

1)Instant love

I cannot express how much this annoys me. Instant love isn`t realistic and has no purpose. Do people actually fall in love with each other when they bump into each other and accidentally pour coffee over someone? No! They get angry and curse that person for ruining such a wonderful day they had so far. 😛 Instant love is a very typical theme in YA and while it was effective, it`s overused and not anymore.

2) Female characters who doubt themselves

Why are so many female characters insecure? They always look at other female characters who seem to have perfect skin and teeth and compare themselves. This isn`t a good example to show to readers and they need to know that they are beautiful, not the opposite.

3) The absent parent

A lot of parents seem to be missing. Where are they? Why aren`t they doing their jobs as parents.

4) The bad boy

This is overused a lot and now therefore boring. There are good guys you know.
