Synopsis:

There is a war going on and Nathan has to find a way to defeat Soul and Wallend altogether so that black witches and white witches and half codes can live together in peace. However Nathan has to find something that will make him untouchable so he can get close to Soul and defeat evil. Meanwhile Nathan is finding out about himself and the gifts he got from his father.

Review:

Half Lost is the third book in this phenomenal Half Bad trilogy and I was really excited to read this book to finish this series. Half Bad (the first book in this trilogy) was one of my favourite book in 2014 so I had a lot of hope for this book and boy did this book exceed my expectations.

I went through a whirl wind of emotions when I was reading this book. I was happy, angry and tears left my eyes. I have not read a book yet that have made me go through every emotions you can think of. I was angry when Nathan was under Soul`s influence and I just felt like throwing the book because the anger look over. However I didn`t and I`m glad I didn`t because I would have ruined the book. Tears left my eyes during the end of the book and I couldn`t contain myself.

In this book there is a war going on between white witches and the Alliance. Nathan has it in his mind to take revenge for his father`s death but to also stop the war by killing Soul, however to do this he needs a weapon that could make him invincible.

One of the greatest thing I love about this book is the amount of characters. In “Half Lost” there aren`t that many characters. This is a good thing because if gives the reader a chance to get to know the characters and so the character development if very great in this book. In addition the minimal amount of characters means that I won`t have the problem of trying to remember the characters. In addition the characters in this book are very diverse so this brings a change to traditional Young Adult literature (YA). The themes of this book mainly evolves around coming-of-age, magic, witches and GLBT.

When reading this book I felt as though I was dreaming because everything flowed and the pace of the book was just perfect: it was fast when it needed to be and it was slow when the moment was right. I also loved Green`s writing style because it was easy to read and it wasn`t bombarded with descriptions that would result in my skimming.

Furthermore I loved how everything in this book was so unexpected. Every point in this book I was constantly on the edge of my seat because I couldn`t predict what was going to happen (normally I can predict the plot) and so I was reading as fast as I can to find out what was going to happen.

Overall this book was such an enjoyable read and I would recommend it to anyone. There is a theme of magic in this book and this makes the book much more enjoyable. This book is a rollercoaster itself so be prepared and bring a box of tissues just in case.
