A Reflection on my Reading and Life…

It`s quite scary how this month is now July, to me it still feels like March. Another month means it`s time for another reflection post.

A Reflection on my Reading life is a monthly (ish) theme here on Life is Sweet in Books where I talk about the books I have read and my life. I thought this would be a better post to make than a wrap up post because it is less restricted and it allows me to be more original.

Percy Jackson series

From my last post, I have successfully completed the Percy Jackson series! Like any other book lover out there, I can tell you that I love this series and it has become one of my top favourite series out there! I love the adventure that Percy has and the family aspect that Rich Riordan embeds in the books. I am also a huge lover of Greek Mythology.

Sophie Someone by Hayley Long

This book was a little out of my comfort zone because I don`t really tend to read books that evolve around a girl trying to find out her heritage and where she actually comes from. However I was determined to read a different book in order to widen my reading experience. I quite enjoyed this book as it was very emotional and the secret language in this book was an unique experience.Read More »

A Reflection of My Reading Life

Hello guys,

Today I have the very long awaited Reflection on My Reading Life post! I have to admit that I was aiming to write one of these posts a month, however, sadly this past month has been packed full with EXAMS!!! Therefore I have to take a bit of time off from blogging, although I`m sure everything will be back to normal in a few weeks! *fingers crossed*!

A Reflection of My Reading Life is a new monthly post here on Life is Sweet in Books where I will be reflecting and telling you about what I have recently read and my reading experiences.

Since the last post of this category was a long, long time ago, we have a lot of books today!

Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley

I wanted to read this book because I had seen that it was compared to Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. I went into this book without really knowing anything, but I did have high hopes for it. Unfortunately I was let down, mainly because I didn`t really understand the plot of the story.

Kindred Spirits by Rainbow Rowell

This novella is written especially for World Book Day 2016 and so I was quite exited to get my hands on this and to see what a short Rowell novella would be like. I wasn`t disappointing in this novella at all! Rowell has a way capturing you and even though there isn`t a straight plot, you still get that Rainbow Rowell feel.Read More »

The books I have read recently are:

The Sleeping Prince by Melinda Salisbury

I had been waiting a whole year for this book to come out because I really enjoyed the first book and I was intrigued to see where the story would go and what would happen to the main characters. I had recently posted a review for this book so if you want to read more about this book and my feelings the check my review here.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

Last year I tried to read this book because I heard that it is many people`s favourite book! However when I read it I couldn`t get into the book so I returned it to the library. Although I decided to read the book again because I really hate reading a book and not finishing it, but I don`t mind not finishing a book that I didn`t like. Overall the book was okay, I couldn`t really relate to any of the characters and I found some parts of the book quite unnecessary. I was expecting to love this book more due to the hype.Read More »
