Top Ten TV Shows That I Love

Welcome back to Life Is Sweet in Books!

Today we have a Top Ten Tuesday post and this has to be one of my favourite ones to do because it`s all about TV shows! When I`m not reading I`m usually seen watching TV shows and there are a few shows which I am obsessed with, therefore I thought it would be fitting to do this post.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

The first TV show I have is the Flash. I love this show sooo much because of the positive vibe that it gives. Normally TV shows tend to be quite dark and serious, but the Flash has this warm tone that makes me want to keep watching. I cannot wait for the next season to come out because the last season left on a cliff hanger!!!

Along the lines of the DC world I am also loving the show Supergirl! This is also a happy and upbeat show and it just leaves me in a happy mood. This is good thing because I tend to watch TV shows to de-stress from the busy school life. I also love the wardrobe in Supergirl!

The next show is Teen Wolf. I decided to watch this show because all my friends where watching it. I did find the first few episode quite boring and this lead me to stop watching the show. Although a few months ago I went back to finish the first season and from there I am now hooked! This show is so addicted and this may be because every episode ends on a cliff hanger, but I don`t care because this show is my whole life. I love all the characters and everything about this show is perfect: there is a fantastic plot line and the characters are very diverse.

The final show that I am going to mention in the Shannare Chronicles. This show is one of my type of show because its set in a fantasy-like setting and it reminds me of my favourite fantasy books. The TV show is based on the book series, although sadly I haven`t read the books, but I do intend to read them in the future. If you love fantasy book I`m sure you`ll love this show. Similarly I can`t wait for the next season.Read More »

Top Ten Tuesday REWIND- Books that have made me want to do something

Hey guys,

I know it has been a long time since I have posted and the only excuse for this is I haven`t had the motivation. However I am now back and I thought I should start with a bang and therefore I am going to post a Top Ten Tuesday post. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week`s Top Ten Tuesday is a free one where I can make a post about the past Top Ten Tuesdays. A few weeks ago I saw a post about books inspiring people to do something and it really made me want to create a post like it. Fortunately I have the chance today and so here we go:

The Hunger Games made me want to take up archery…

I have been a lover of the Hunger Games for the longest time and every time I reread the books or re-watch the films I always want to be like Katniss and to be able to shoot like here. However I did try archery once and my aim isn`t that good, but I can dream on it, right?

Rebel of the Sands made me want to take up sharpshooting…

Similarly Rebel of the Sands has made me want to do something that has to do with protecting myself and to be original. I guess what I mean these types of books has inspired me to become a strong female and to follow my instincts.

Percy Jackson made me want to join Camp Half-Blood…

In the books Camp Half-Blood seems like the holy grail and I think I would feel like at home at Camp Half-Blood. This may be because I`m a half-blood (my parent hasn`t claimed me yet, but if I join I may find out who my other parent is).

Harry Potter made me want to take my education not for granted…

Hermione Granger is possibly one of the most inspirational character for children and whilst growing up she has always inspired me to keep on studying and to not care about what people think.Read More »

Top Ten Tuesday:Books To Read If You Are In The Mood For Fantasy

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I feel like I haven`t done a top ten Tuesday post in a long time so here we are.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by the team over at The Broke and The Bookish. This weeks TTT is my favourite fantasy books a.k.a my favourite genre and my go-to reads. I love reading fantasy books and so I thought I might recommend some because I know all these books are amazing!!!

First of I need to start with the one and only Throne of Glass series. These books will leave you wanting for more and I have seriously been in a little reading slump since reading Queen of Shadows. I sure you will LOVE this series if you haven`t reading read it.

Harry Potter is another series I love. Magic and wizards and more magic, what more can you ask for. The characters in this series are also very diverse and so I think this would be a great series to read/reread if you are looking for some diverse characters.

The Sin Eater`s Daughter series is a newbie on the list. Recently I read the second book (my review will be up very soon) and I absolutely loved it. This book is like Shatter Me but in a fantasy world rather than a dystopian world.

Now for a little controversial book: Red Queen. Yes I know many of you love this book, although I personally didn`t, however I am currently reading the second book and I am actually enjoying it. Therefore I need to include the first book because we all know we should always read the first book before the second.

The Queen of The Tearling is to die for! I love how this book is slow paced and interesting at the same time. The main character of this book has such a strong voice and she empowers the idea of a strong independent female character that can do anything! Read More »

TTT: Top Ten Books I Wouldn’t Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree This Year

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by the team over at The Broke and The Bookish. This weeks TTT is basically my wishlist for this Christmas. I`ve already done a post on the books I want but I left out a few books…

Christmas is so near-just three more days!!! I can`t wait!!! However since it is not technically Christmas YET, this means that I still have time to write a wishlist for Father Christmas to read and choose some of the book to give to me right?

Although I know that for Christmas I might not get books because my family and friends tend to not know what books I`m interested in, even though half of the time I only talk about books. Nevertheless I must be positive and I can always buy the books I want with a little bit of Christmas money and gift cards.

Now lets get on with the books, I would not mind Santa leaving:

All of Morgan Matsons published books: Amy and Roger`s epic detour, Second Chance Summer and Since you`ve been goneI have been meaning to read this book ever since the beginning of summer. These books such look like the perfect summer read and since it is so cold where I live I feel like I need a summery book to light me up

Fallen Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes is another book that has achieved so much hype and due to the hype I have been very interested in this book. I hear this whole series (there is going to be six books) is quite epic and it`s like A Games of Thrones. Although I know that some readers say that it is an over-hyped book so this makes me quite anxious.

Trying not to repeat books from my original book wishlist post I am going to include The Mistborn Trilogy. This series consists of three books based in this world (which I believe has a unique) magic system. I don`t know too much about this book as I like going into books blind because then the hype of the book won`t affect my feelings towards it.

Top Ten Tuesday-Best Books I read in 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by the team over at The Broke and The Bookish. This weeks TTT is my favourite books that I have read in the year 2015.

I can`t believe the year is nearly over! Time has just flew by without me noticing. This year I have achieved my goodreads challenge to read 50 books! Therefore this was quite a challenge to pick only 10 books out of the 50 books I have read. However these books that I am going to mention might not be the only books that I am going to love because the year has not ended.

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

I really enjoyed this book and I must say that I loved the whole series. I might not have waited long like other people since I only read the whole series this year, but I still loved it!

All The Bright Places by Jenifer Niven

This book threw off guard because I didn`t expect anything like this to happen. The book is based on two teens called Violet and Finch and they meet on top of a building whilst trying to take their own lives.

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

Yes I finally read this book in 2015, finally. After seeing many people rave about this book I picked it up and all the hype was right. This book is extraordinary as they say it is. Park is one of my most favourite fictional characters and he is the reason why I love this book. Thank you Rainbow Rowell.

The Queen of The Tearling by Erica Johansen

Oh this book beats every fantasy book I have ever read and it may be on the same level as The Throne of Glass series. It is that wonderful! Here is my review where you can read about my thoughts on it.

To All The Boys I`ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

A sweet fluffy read that will capture you and draw you towards it- I also loved this book (surprisingly). This book is about a girl called Laura Jean who writes letters to all the boys she had loved (hence the title). The story is based on when all the letters get sent out to the boys and the consequences she has to face.

Top 5 Wednesday- Favourite Series Novellas

It`s Wednesday and this means it is another time of the week for a Top 5 Wednesday and this week`s is favourite series novellas. This weekly meme is created by gingerreadslainey and here is the goodreads group.

Good day,

Today I have successfully made a T5W post. Yay!

My number one for this meme is very obvious but I love it and you can`t so no to this book: The Assassin`s Blade by Sarah J. Maas. I read this book in September and I didn`t realise how heartbreaking this book was. The novellas in this book follows Celaena when she is 16 and her life before the salt mines. You might think that there isn`t any action in this book but you are surely wrong. The fast pace action makes you turn pages instantly and before you know it you`re at the end of the book. Maas is such a good author because it doesn`t matter if you haven`t read the series in a long while-you`ll still understand the plot.

Next we have Four by Veronica Roth. Surprisingly, if you didn`t know this, I don`t like the Divergent books, I prefer the films but I feel like many people are hating the Hunger Games and liking Divergent instead. When I first read Four I read it disliking the Divergent series, although when I found myself liking the book. I think the reason for this is because I don`t like Tris and I prefer Four over her. Four`s side of the story is much more better and (I know this is weird but) I like the way he thinks.

I haven`t read many novellas so to finish this post I want to list a few novellas that I want or are planning to read:

  • My true love gave to me by  Stephanie Perkins and other authors- I want to read this book because I think it will be the perfect Christmas read and I need to read some Christmas books since Christmas is coming.
  • The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare- yes I haven`t read this book and the reason is because I`m quite apprehensive and I didn`t like Magnus, but I still need to read!

Top Ten Tuesday- My Top Ten Auto-buy Authors

So today is Tuesday and I never really post weekdays but I`ve just recently heard of a weekly meme called Top Ten Tuesday and I found it a really fun meme so I decided to participate.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Today`s Top Ten Tuesday is  my Top Ten  Auto-buy Authors. I think that when you are reading you always have an author that you love a lot because of their characters and their wonderful they have created. I think that many of these authors I`m going to mention their books are impulse buys for me.

Sarah J. Maas- I think that this has been a recent obvious for me but all her books are just so amazing and addicting and no matter what I`ll always enjoy her books. If you haven`t read any of her books, what are you doing??? Pick up Throne of Glass or A Court of Thorns and Roses now! I can gaurente you`ll enjoy it and will be wanting more.

Jenny Han- Oh Jenny Han is the Queen of Contemporary. All of her books have the perfect amount of romace with some family toppings. All the books she has published so far are really easy to read and you`re just hooked by the first page.

Cassandra Clare- I think that a lot of people are going to choose her but there`s a reason for that, the Shadowhunter world is just a magnificent series that pulls you in and Cassandra Clare makes you believe that the world exist from the moment your eyes land on the first page. The Infernal Devices is my all time favourite trilogy.

Josephine Angelini- I`ve enjoyed all her books that she has published, especially Trial By Fire which left me wanting for more and I really can`t wait for the next book to come out! Her Starcrossed series is equally as phenomenal.
